Socio-Economic & Empowerment Ministry: Light the Night Walk event

Light The Night season is officially upon us! September is Blood Cancer Awareness Month and there is no better way to get involved than by fundraising for our MPBC Walking For A Cure team. Light The Night and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society fund critical research that leads to new cancer treatments and cures. In the past 18 months, 25 new blood cancer treatments have been approved by the FDA – and LLS has directly funded 20 of these. Last year, we raised over $5,000 for Light The Night. This year, MPBC Walking For A Cure has set a $10,000 goal and we need your help! Right now we have 40 people on the team, and if each of you raises $250 we will reach our goal. To provide a bit of incentive, any person who raises $250 or more by October 1st will be entered to win a Light The Night prize pack! Fundraise and walk with us on Friday, October 12 in Reston Town Center! Visit our team page https://pages.lightthenight.org/nca/Reston18/ mpbcwalkingforacure and keep your eye out for other emails that include fundraising ideas (e- mails may come from either myself or from Sadie, our LLS representative). Thank you for your support of LLS and the fight against blood cancers!
